Oracle Fusion Cost Management · cost processor error · cause and fix

The receipt is missing a cost (work orders)

Finished goods came off a work order and costing must put a price on them, before the work order closes, that price comes from the “provisional completions” setting on the cost profile. If it says “at standard cost”, a published standard must exist for that date. If it says “at average”, the finished item needs an average from somewhere, a previous WIP close, a PO receipt, a costed misc receipt. Neither exists, so the completion waits unpriced.

Root cause

Provisional-completion setup points at a cost (standard or average) that doesn't exist yet.

How to fix it
  1. Open the item's cost profile and check the Provisional Completions setting
  2. If @ standard: publish a standard cost covering the completion date (Manage Standard Costs)
  3. If @ average: give the finished good an average first, a costed misc receipt works, or let a WIP close establish it
  4. Rerun the processor once the source cost exists
