Sites offering real questions, verified answers, PDF downloads. We are not going to do that, for two reasons. Using a dump breaches Oracle's certification agreement and can get your credential revoked. And it teaches you nothing you can use in an interview, which is the only place the certificate earns its money.

Who this exam is actually for
1Z0-1163-1 validates foundational knowledge of Oracle Cloud Supply Chain Management and its core applications. Foundations level means breadth, not configuration depth.
It fits you if you are any of the following.
- A supply chain professional moving into an Oracle Fusion role
- A functional consultant who needs a credential that says you speak SCM
- An implementation team member on a Fusion project, on any workstream
- A student or career changer wanting a recognised first rung
It does not fit you if you want proof of deep configuration skill. That is what the higher Implementation Professional exams are for. This one proves you understand the processes and the vocabulary.
What is on it
The exam covers the core Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM processes.
- Procurement. Requisition through purchase order, approvals, suppliers, receiving.
- Inventory. Organisations, on-hand, transactions, transfers, counting.
- Order Management. Order capture through fulfilment, holds, shipping.
- Supply chain orchestration. How the modules hand work to each other.
- Oracle Modern Best Practices. Oracle's own reference processes, and the metrics attached to them.
That last one is the part candidates underestimate. Oracle Modern Best Practices are not filler. They are how Oracle frames the right way to run a process, and Foundations exams lean on them.
How it asks
Three question styles show up, and they need different preparation.
Straight recall
Definitions, feature behaviour, system terminology. What a cost organisation is. What a document style controls. These reward reading.
Scenario questions
A realistic supply chain situation, then a question about what happens or what should happen. These reward having watched a real flow run, which is why passive reading alone leaves people short.
Configuration thinking
You are given a business requirement and asked which Oracle setting or concept maps to it. Not how to configure it. Which thing is the right thing. This is the style that separates people who memorised from people who understood.
Published exam information lists the passing score as 65 percent. Treat that as a floor to clear comfortably rather than a target to scrape.
A four-week preparation plan
This assumes a few hours a week, not a full-time study block.
Week 1, get the shape of the system
Before memorising anything, see how the modules connect. Watch a purchase order travel from Procurement to the General Ledger, and a sales order travel from Order Management to GL. If the handoffs make sense, the scenario questions become much easier.
Start with what Oracle Fusion actually is, then ride the full P2P flow with every journal entry.
Week 2, procurement and inventory
Work through the purchasing implementation guide and inventory management. You are not learning to configure. You are learning what each setup decision controls, because that is exactly what configuration-thinking questions test.
Week 3, order management and costing
Cover cost management and the order-to-cash side. Costing is where Foundations candidates most often lose marks, because it is the least visual part of the system.
Then do something most candidates skip. Read a few real production errors. Understanding why a transaction fails to cost teaches you the underlying model faster than any summary.
Week 4, test yourself honestly
Use the daily practice question to find gaps, and the practice area to rehearse explaining concepts out loud. If you cannot explain a cost profile to another person in two sentences, you do not know it yet.
Three things people get wrong
Treating it as a memory test. The scenario and configuration-thinking questions do not reward recall. They reward having a mental model of the flow.
Skipping Oracle Modern Best Practices. They feel like marketing material. They are examinable.
Ignoring costing. It is the least intuitive area and it connects to everything. Candidates who understand costing tend to clear the rest comfortably.
After you pass
A Foundations certificate opens a conversation. It does not close one. The next question in an interview is always about what you have actually done, so pair it with work you can describe.
