Oracle Fusion Cost Management · cost processor error · cause and fix

Issue fully costed but not fully depleted, unresolved negative inventory

Error code: CST_CPROC_UNRESOLVED_NEG_INV

Same empty-shelf disease as the hold error, different profile setting: here the profile says ALWAYS process. So costing priced the issue anyway using the current item cost, but underneath, it couldn't complete the depletion layers, because there was nothing to deplete. The transaction reads “fully costed” on the surface with holes in the bookkeeping below, and everything downstream of it waits.

Root cause

Profile = ALWAYS: costing priced the issue but the depletion layers underneath are incomplete.

How to fix it
  1. Same cure as the NEVER variant: find the missing valuation-unit onhand (SQLs on that card)
  2. Misc receipt for the missing quantity in the same valuation unit → transfer to costing → rerun the processor
  3. The warning clears when the layers complete; downstream receipts and returns process on the next run
  4. Know the third sibling: profile = TO ZERO gives “processed to zero quantity, remainder on hold”, identical cure
